KEIZER, Ore. — A six-run third inning by the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes did in the Spokane Indians in a 8-3 loss in Northwest League baseball in front of 3,403 in front of Volcanoes Stadium on Saturday.

Spokane had won its first two games since the All-Star break, beating Salem-Keizer the previous two nights.

Spokane took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, after Anderson Tejada drove in Blaine Prescott, then with two outs. Preston Scott then singled Tejada home.

But even though the Indians (5-4) held onto a 3-2 lead after the top of the third, on another RBI single by Scott, Salem-Keizer (4-5) delivered the runs, featuring a two-run double by Ryan Howard.

Melvin Adon allowed three earned runs through the first five innings, with two relievers hold Spokane hitless over the final four innings.

Spokane will play at Salem-Keizer today at 5 p.m. in the fourth of a five-game series.
