Two boaters were reported missing Sunday following a collision between two boats Saturday night on Lake Coeur d'Alene, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office was notified of a possible boat crash in the area of Stevens Point and Arrow Point. Marine units, dive team members and the Kootenai County Fire Rescue boat responded to the area and located the collision scene.

The sheriff's office’s preliminary investigation revealed it appeared one vessel was traveling southbound when it struck another vessel that was stationary.

Marine units have been actively searching the lake and shore area of the crash since Sunday morning, and also contacting homeowners in the area.

Several people were transported to Kootenai Health for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
