| December 30, 2015 8:00 PM

COEUR d’ALENE — Senior Madi Schoening, a Montana signee, had 34 points, eight rebounds and five steals as the Sandpoint Bulldogs clipped the Coeur d’Alene Vikings 51-46 in the semifinals of the Coeur d’Alene Winter Classic on Tuesday at Elmer Jordan Court.

“We’ve been a little snakebit and haven’t gotten over the hump and get through on the close one yet,” Coeur d’Alene coach Dale Poffenroth said. “Madi just did a good job of getting to the free throw line tonight. We did a good job of shutting down everyone else, but it’s got to be a team effort and we’ve got to help out on defense. I thought we played pretty well and hard. It could have been anyone’s game, but we couldn’t get anything to fall our way.”
