Mary Patricia Hagen, 61

Mary Patricia Hagen, 61, passed away Dec. 24, 2015, at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene.

Mary was born May 8, 1954, in Coeur d’Alene to Daniel and Charlotte Hagen. She attended K-11th grade at the Immaculate Heart of Mary School, but graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School. She attended North Idaho College where she earned an AA, then went on to receive her BA and MA from Gonzaga University.

Mary was a member of St. Thomas (The Apostle) Catholic Parish in Coeur d’Alene. She enjoyed movies, books, poetry, and music. She wrote many poems, and loved her cats, Gus and Rosetta. She loved hiking, and working in National Parks.

She is survived by her father Daniel J. Hagen; brother James P. Hagen, Ph.D; and her sisters Charlotte Hagen and Katie Hagen.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother Charlotte Hagen, Sr.; grandmother Nettie Hagen; and her favorite cat Gus.

A vigil will be held at 5 p.m. today, Dec. 29, 2015, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St, in Coeur d’Alene.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 919 Indiana Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Mary will be laid to rest at 10 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 2, at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene.
