COLUMN: Just abortion fantasy
It would be funny if it weren’t so tragic. Jeff Bourget’s “My Turn” of over half a page in the 18 Dec ‘15, Press was a staggering display of gullibility that one could be excused for finding willful. Let’s just address the subject of abortion, rather than his entire range of fantasies.
First, “abortion” is the killing of babies, so let’s not get too casual with totals and percents. Bourget’s assertion that Planned Parenthood actually PREVENTS 216,000 abortions is an absurd made-up number (which is an admitted tactic of pro-aborts). That’s just not PP’s line of business. They do 10 abortions for each one pre-natal care case. Their own 2011-2012 annual report counts 333,964 abortions — and that’s just from voluntary reporting, since it’s not universally required. And you might want to check the numbers from the Guttmacher Institute, the former statistics cruncher for PP, which typically shows higher totals.
As for federal tax money used or not for abortions, please look up “fungible”. Which particular dollar bill is used for which specific purpose is not traceable — or important. Bottom line? PP gets my tax money and kills babies.
Those videos of PP EXECUTIVES discussing the sale of baby body parts are available full length for those people who just can’t believe their own “lyin’ eyes and ears” when viewing the excerpts. Heck, even PP’s president has shifted from denial to whining about getting caught.
Pro-aborts ought to simply admit that their own convenience is more important than innocent lives. Then they could ignore that pesky conscience reminding them that abortion is just flat out wrong.
