Ah. It’s finally real. The one many readers keep asking about.

Cracker Barrel actually has a building permit with the official address of 1675 W. Lee Court. Regular residents would know it better as the plowed property surrounded by Interstate 90, Ramsey Road and Appleway (across from Winco).

The place will be 10,396 square feet with a covered patio, restaurant with 177 seats and a gift store. Watch for a late-June opening with 185 (!) employees.

Cracker Barrel began in 1969 in Lebanon, Tenn., and has 633 stores in 42 states. The closest to us is off I-90 in Missoula. It offers all three meals, but no booze. Check www.crackerbarrel.com.

Evidently other new neighboring eateries will be Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers and Native Grill & Wings.

Chipotle to open on Appleway

With seating for 75 people inside and 35 outside, the new Chipotle Mexican Grill plans to open Feb. 4 at 305 W. Appleway.

The new 2,500-square-foot place will offer burritos (in tortillas or bowls), salads, steaks, carnitas, barbacoa, chicken, vegetarian items, beans, guacamole and new menu items.

The company started in 1993 in Denver (still its headquarters) and has more than 1,900 outlets in five countries (USA, Canada, Germany, England and France). Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily with 25-35 employees. Applicants can visit www.jobs.chipotle.com.

Maverik opens in Hayden

The new Maverik gas station and convenience store is open at the northwest corner of Highway 95 and Hayden Avenue (next to Rustlers Roost Restaurant).

The complex includes multiple fuel pumps and the 4,250-square-foot store with BonFire hot, prepared foods. It’s open 24 hours daily.

The company began in Wyoming and has 270 locations in 10 states with its headquarters in Utah. Check www.maverik.com.

Now for the Tidbits

- Watch for early 2016 openings of the new Starbucks in the previous Schlotzsky’s Deli building in Ironwood Square, the move of Monet Floors & Home Design on Government Way, Numerica Credit Union in Post Falls, Chipotle Mexican Grill on Appleway, Patriot Nutrition Supplements on Ramsey Road, The Grille From Ipanema moving from downtown to Riverstone, Real Deals on Home Decor on Fourth Street, Ace Hardware in Rathdrum and Anthony’s (seafood) in Riverstone.

- Coeur d’Alene is annexing about 10 acres on the southeast corner of Ramsey Road and Prairie Avenue. It will probably become a gas station-convenience store with owner Dave Patzer. A fast-food place may be added.

- The rumored changes at Porky’s on Northwest Boulevard evidently aren’t happening.

- A building permit is approved for a three-story 12-unit apartment building at 728 W. Sherman Ave. The place will have high-end one-bedroom and one-bedroom-and-office units to be completed in June.

- Boxing rings are square.

- A real headline: “The meeting on open meetings is closed.”

- Ages are written as numerals, not words, even if under 10 unless they’re starting a sentence (avoid that).

- Happy New Year, everyone!
