LIBERALS: Stop stupid spending

I keep wondering if the average intelligent liberal voter ever is aware of some of the ridiculous things their elected government spends our money on. Here are a few examples:

$1 million to train monkeys to run on treadmills in hamster balls

$17,500 to get students to wear fat suits

$2.2 million to encourage tourism in Lebanon

$5 million to “help a hipster” quit smoking

$119 million to prop up the tobacco industry

$1.2 million to build a life size Pac-Man game

$78,000 to determine if pizza is as addictive as crack

I am not making these up. Then I wonder why we are $18 trillion in debt.

Also, I am referring to the My Turn article on page 4-5 of the Dec. 11 issue of the Press. There were two My Turn articles that day. I do not know the author, Marvin Miller, but I would like to. His article is a masterpiece. I submitted a very similar article that was not selected for publication and was not as well written as his. My only criticism is that it should have been on the front page.

It never ceases to amaze me that the liberals can be so blind to the economic FACTS that their proposals ignore. I hope we can survive another year of Obama but I fear we will have a major economic crash before he leaves office.
