Pete and Marilyn McCharness
65th Anniversary
Pete and Marilyn McCharness will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on Dec. 8, 2015. They were married on Dec. 8, 1950, in Panama, Neb.
They have three children: Vicky Watson, Glenda Peone and Melanie White; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pete was a Farmers Insurance agent in Coeur d’Alene for many years with help from his wife, Marilyn. They returned to Coeur d’Alene after living in Scottsdale, Ariz., for many years and now reside in Leisure Park.
Fred and
Nathalie Mitchell
70th Anniversary
Fred and Nathalie Mitchell celebrated 70 years of marriage on Nov. 30. It was indeed very memorable since they actually did move on that same day to their new home at Orchard Ridge in Coeur d’Alene.
Fred after 21 years did retire from the U.S. Air Force! He was a Bomber, Pilot and Navigator during World War II.
They both agree that their favorite place to be stationed was at Clark AFB in the Philippines.
After the service they moved to Coeur d’Alene where Fred taught upper math at Coeur d’Alene High School for 21 years. He still has students who remember those special days with a smile.
Also Fred enjoyed working as a volunteer in the community to help folks file their taxes for over 20 years. They both were very active at Peace Lutheran Church and continue to praise God for His many blessings of 70 years together!
They raised three fine sons and have four special grandsons! We are glad that they were able to li! ve on their own until last year! We praise God for the wonderful care they now receive by the staff at Orchard Ridge in Coeur d’Alene. If you know them then please take time to visit them as you share some ‘precious memories’ with them!
Mel and
Rae Jean Hennig
50th Anniversary
Mel and Rae Jean Hennig will celebrate 50 years of marriage with family and friends at their winter residence in Chandler, Ariz. The Hennigs were married Dec. 12, 1965, in Pender, Neb., and lived in Omaha for nine years. In 1974 they moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, where they raised their two sons and continue to reside during the summer months.
In his retirement, Mel enjoys golf, fishing, Nebraska football, and restoring his 1965 Plymouth Barracuda. Rae Jean enjoys tap-dancing with the Silver Foxes in Chandler and the Lake City Tappers in Coeur d’Alene. Together, Mel and Rae Jean love gardening, attending their grandaughters’ sporting events, and caring for their beloved Pekingese, Patches. Mel and Rae Jean are parents to Jeff and Melinda Hennig of Coeur d’Alene; and Jason and Amy Hennig of Boise. They have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
