Best holiday lights in Kootenai County

The countdown to Christmas is on, and neighborhoods throughout Kootenai County are aglow with twinkling, blinking, colorful lights.

To fuel your holiday spirit, we’re making a list — of the best exterior holiday luminations in the area — and checking it twice.

We will publish our list several times between now and Christmas, and we hope you will help us add to it.

Here are the holiday lights hotspots we’ve heard of so far:

• 5513 North Pacific Drive, Coeur d’Alene (From downtown Coeur d’Alene, take Ramsey Road north, turn right onto West Westminster Avenue and then left onto North Pacific Drive.)

• 2357 West Palais Drive, Coeur d’Alene (From downtown Coeur d’Alene, take Ramsey Road north, turn left onto West Dalton Avenue and then turn left onto West Palais Drive.)

• 3354 East Hayden View Drive, Coeur d’Alene (Take Prairie Avenue east from U.South 95, cross Fourth Street and turn left onto North Loch Haven Drive. Turn left onto East Hayden View Drive. The home will be on the right in nine-tenths of a mile.)

• 2563 West Warwick Court, Hayden (From U.South 95, take West Honeysuckle Avenue. Turn right onto Torrey Lane. At the traffic circle, take the second exit onto West Warwick Court.)

• 2806 West Thorndale Loop, Coeur d’Alene (From downtown Coeur d’Alene, take Atlas Road north. Turn left onto Jonshawk Drive, right onto Talon Lane and right onto West Thorndale Loop.)

• 1591 Yaquina Drive. Post Falls (From Interstate 90, take Exit 7 toward Rathdrum. Turn right onto East Seltice Way. Turn right onto Chase Road. Turn left onto North Willamette Drive, and then left onto West Tualatin Drive. Turn left onto Yaquina Drive.)

• 518 South Shore Pines Road, Post Falls (From Seltice Way, head south on Greensferry Road. Turn left onto Ponderosa Boulevard, and then right onto Shore Pines.)
