Modern myth: HIV and AIDS
Sholeh Patrick makes interesting observations in her “Get to zero on this test” article published in the Dec. 1 edition of the Press but fails to eliminate a major myth still held today; the myth that the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the sole cause of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). She points out that it is an infectious virus which may or may not (my emphasis) cause AIDS. Sholeh continues that there were 39 million people dead from AIDS at last count. She, however misstates that 36 million people are living with it (AIDS) today. That segment of the population would explain that some are diagnosed with HIV but they may not ever acquire AIDS; it is unrelated with treatment for HIV. This means that while there may be a correlation of HIV to AIDS it is not an absolute. The causative agent of an infectious disease was defined by Robert Koch through Koch’s Postulates, accepted universally by the medical community. One says that a germ must be found in all cases of the disease. At least 10 to 20 percent of all AIDS patients have no active HIV at all. The rest have only the antibodies. Another says that the virus must cause sickness when injected into a healthy host. HIV tests on animals have never produced AIDS. What then causes AIDS?
Challenging this myth is akin to challenging specific and complete historical aspects of the Holocaust—one doesn’t challenge the AIDS myth and people become angry if the common belief is not adhered to according to status quo propaganda. The links between AIDS and HIV began in the 1980s when tremendous pictures were being published of so-called AIDS victims coming primarily from Africa and later in the U.S. and Europe. At that time it was believed that certain homosexuals in America had contracted Karposi’s Sarcoma. The hypothesis of HIV was invented later. The research revealed that the symptoms which had been traditionally thought to have been caused by HIV were actually caused by starvation and malnutrition or Karposi’s Sarcoma which is prevalent amongst starving peoples in Africa and elsewhere. The research points to Karposi’s Sarcoma, not HIV, as the cause of illness of the AIDS patients in Europe and America which were depicted in pictures released by the media in the 1980s. It is common knowledge that malnutrition will deplete the immune system
The truth about AIDS is that it is not a contagious disease as is commonly accepted. Peter Duesberg, Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of California at Berkeley — a pioneer in retrovirus research, and the first scientist to isolate a cancer gene — proposes drugs are the main cause of AIDS, as does Mohammed Ali Al-Bayati. Heavy drug use is the main cause of loss of the immune system which is the destruction of “T” cells or antibodies which attack foreign objects in the human body, therefore, disabling the prevention of many diseases. This is what we see when someone has AIDS.
Three groups of people whom AIDS is primarily attributed to has remained constant; male homosexuals, drug addicts, and hemophiliacs. Hemophiliacs need heavy doses of blood clotting drugs and drug addicts need ever-increasing heavier doses incrementally over time as well. What is little known is that there is a high use of drugs by homosexuals which are considered high risk because of their high degree of sexual activity. Homosexuals and other groups of highly active sexual persons abuse a wide variety of drugs in order to control the venereal diseases they are exposed to and to maintain that particular lifestyle.
Why is the HIV causes AIDS myth being propagated then? To further specific political, social, and moral agendas. Politically, the myth ensures government funding which continues in the billions of dollars to date. We are no closer to a vaccine or a reliable treatment for AIDS today than in 1984, when HIV was “provided” to cause the disease.
Socially and morally the HIV myth propagation attempts to hold back truths regarding the purpose of the sex act and enforce a new belief in the school systems. The indoctrination of mandatory condom use down to the elementary school level is one such example. Advancing the homosexual special interest group’s agenda, which has received preferential treatment since the myth was first propagated, is another.
Century upon century of myths, legends, and folklore, have served an important purpose throughout history; they explain the human condition. Myths help to explain human longing, desire, and beyond all, explain the origins and value systems of different cultures and societies. North American society in the 21st century is no different. The human condition in the 21st century has become markedly different from generations which have preceded it. The sexual revolution of the 1960s was heavily responsible for fueling the idea that traditional Christian beliefs had to be overturned. The HIV causes AIDS myth has served this cause by substantiating, through false information, the sexual revolution’s original intent of liberation.
There is no danger in holding on to myths. Myths are woven throughout the history of mankind. The danger comes in not understanding that they are just that, myths. The HIV causes AIDS myth is still propagated without being challenged in open debate. The small minority of scientists and doctors holding these assertions have invited the world community of scientists, doctors, and leaders to a debate on the subject. Why has the status quo rejected the offer? This writer believes the answer is answered in my former comments. More testing for HIV will not solve this dilemma; it will only keep the government’s and the medical community’s pockets lined for some time to come.
