POLICE: Deserve our appreciation

This letter is to inform Brandy Vincent Smith that nowadays, our police officers put their lives in danger by just being in the public with their uniforms on.

Police officers do their part by getting the bad guys off our streets. Once they have done their job, they have no say in what happens once the courts, judges and attorneys are through with them.

I do agree that our officers are underpaid. After some officers are properly trained, they move on to other police departments for more pay. Most men and women become police officers because they want to help people. I for one would not want to put my life on the line everyday and put up with the crap police officers have to put up with.

I hope you print this letter. It is time the police officers get some thanks for what they do.
