PREP BASEBALL: Hall triples twice to rally Timberwolves

| April 26, 2015 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - Jarred Hall hit a go-ahead two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally the Lake City Timberwolves past the Post Falls Trojans 4-3 in the first game of a 5A Inland Empire League doubleheader on Saturday at Lake City High.

"The kids played well," said Lake City coach Travis Georgius, who did not coach the varsity on Saturday as he was filling in for the JV coach due to a family emergency. "It's definitely good going into the Coeur d'Alene game on Tuesday. It will be a fun day. I was just kind of hoping to see some of the younger kids before we decide who to call up for districts."

Sam Slusser had two hits and two RBIs in the second game for Lake City (12-8, 5-5 5A IEL), which hosts Coeur d'Alene in a doubleheader on Tuesday, starting at 2 p.m.

Treavor Hammel had three of Post Falls' four hits in the opener, including a home run. The Trojans (7-13-1) have now lost 10 straight games - all in league play - and host Lewiston on Tuesday in a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
