Caravanserai continues

| January 3, 2014 8:00 PM

An international program aimed at establishing greater understanding between American and Middle Eastern societies continues this month at the Jacklin Art and Cultural Center in Post Falls.

Called "Caravanserai: A place where cultures meet," the program is billed by the JACC as a "groundbreaking artistic and cultural exchange program meant to showcase the diversity of contemporary Middle Eastern societies through their art and culture."

The first Caravanserai artist to visit was Turkish musical legend Omar Faruk Tekbilek who performed during a residency in Post Falls in October.

JACC's second Caravanserai artist-in-residence is Pelin Esmer, a Turkish independent filmmaker.

Esmer's second feature film, "Watchtower," will be screened Jan. 8 at 6 p.m. at Regal Cinemas Riverstone Stadium, Old Mill Loop, Coeur d'Alene. Esmer will be on hand for a "talk back."

For tickets, call 457-8950, or buy online at www.thejacklincenter.org. Tickets: Adults/$20, $15/students, senior and military.
