Jean Marie Tomasini, 53

| February 18, 2011 9:00 PM

Jean was born Aug. 30, 1957, in Enid, Okla., to Homer and Emile McElmurry. She passed away peacefully on Feb. 16, 2011, with her loving husband at her side and with family and friends in the day's prior.

Jean graduated from Casa Roble High School in Orangevale, Calif., in 1975. She met her husband Ludwig on a camping trip in the Sierras in 1983 and married him in Reno, Nev., four months later. In 1986 Jean gave birth to her only child, a beautiful daughter named Jamie. Jean loved and cared for Jamie dearly and they were also the best of friends.

Later in 1986 Jean moved to Hayden with her husband and daughter. Jean loved North Idaho and the four distinct seasons it has to offer. Not long after moving to Idaho Jean started her 19-year career with Interstate Concrete and Asphalt.

In 2007 Jean attended the wedding of her daughter to a remarkable man named Adam. Jean was an excellent cook, loved to read romance novels, play computer games, care for her pets and attended numerous outdoor activities with her husband and daughter. Jean had a special magnetism for kids. One of her recent favorites was a young friend named Kevin.

Jean is survived by her husband of 27 years, Ludwig; daughter Jamie; son-in-law Adam; granddaughter Katy Rae; grandson Luke; brothers, J.O. and Phil; sisters, Katherine, May and Linda; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Jean touched the hearts of many people especially during her fight with a dementia type debilitating disease. We would like to thank everyone at Beehive Homes for taking special care of Jean and treating her like one of their own family members.

In lieu of flowers please make any donations in memory of Jean to the Alzheimer's Association so we can fight this horrible disease, www.alz.org or NCA 3701 Pender Dr. Suite 400 Fairfax, VA 22030.

Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
