Rathdrum man arrested after crime spree

Rathdrum — The North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force assisted Rathdrum Police and Idaho State Police with apprehending a wanted felon after he went on a crime spree on Tuesday, June 11 in Rathdrum.

Devin R. Bischoff, a 29-year-old from the Rathdrum area, was involved in several crimes in Rathdrum to include, robbery, kidnapping, grand theft, battery on an officer, stalking and felony battery.

Police attempted to arrest Bischoff, but he got away and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. However, Bischoff continued to elude officers. A warrant was issued for Bischoff’s arrest.

Members of the North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force were able to track Bischoff down and attempted to make a traffic stop on him near his parents’ property on Diagonal Road. Bischoff fled on foot. Deputy Nelson and K9 Pogo tracked Bischoff to a trailer on the property. Bischoff reportedly gave up when the K9 located him.

Bischoff was arrested and transported to the Kootenai County Public Safety Building for the warrant and possession of stolen property.

Bischoff reportedly has a long criminal history in Kootenai County, dating back to 2006. He has been booked into the Public Safety Building 10 times for crimes ranging from inattentive driving, cruelty to children, theft and possession of controlled substances.
