AVISTA: Just say no, consumers

Print Article

Yes, Avista is asking for another raise. The email stated my rate would go down, but then it said it depended on how much I used. How confusing. Avista does not ever need any rate increase until they quit using more than $3 million (according to the 2016 Avista report) of our payments for non-utility expenditures, such as sporting event “advertisements,” art, or other community donations of their choice. I don’t think it’s right I have to pay for these through a public utility.

Customers, look into it. If you agree, go to: https://bit.ly/35FJ1Kx

Then go to electric, then case comment form. Fill out the form using: case No. AVU-E-19-04

The commission reads each complaint, but it needs to be sent now.

They now have free reign to spend money wherever they want, then they have the nerve to ask for more money for the utility part. Go to: https://bit.ly/2OWjlDr

You can see how vague they list their many non-utility expenditures (such as “Health and Human Services” for $1,270,256). That’s a lot of money that can go to repairing lines. The thing is, I have no choice.
