WILDLIFE: Nature abounds in N. Idaho

Print Article

Dearest Jeffery Coulter,

Wow! Where do I even start? First, to the citizen of Shaw Loop, who feeds the turkeys. Thank you and spread the word to others to take your lead. Thousands of people in Idaho feed deer, elk, moose and turkeys during the winter. And yes, it gives them all healthy babies in the spring. That has nothing to do with IDFG. It’s caring people in the state of Idaho who love their state and all of nature.

How little you know about nature’s predators. I shall name a few that kill turkeys. Crows eat thousands of eggs and baby chicks. Coyotes, bald eagles, falcons, all hawks, bobcats, lynx, wolverines, raccoons, snakes, skunks, opossums, family dogs, owls, foxes, cougars, and my favorite, the American hunter.

To IDFG. I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for not only the turkey, but all of nature. Continue your course of excellence.

Odds are Jeffery, you do not hunt or own a weapon to hunt. Do me a favor. Buy yourself a pair of hiking boots, a camera, cut yourself off a walking stick from your property and take a walk in the hills of Idaho. You will be amazed at what nature and the state of Idaho has been offering you for several years. Try being a Country Boy for a week and enjoy the Silverwood of Idaho.
