NATIONAL ANTHEM: It’s not about you

Print Article

I’ve heard many veterans and seniors talk about the modern day singing of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” It is not a criticism of voice but of the performances of many singers. It has become pretty widespread for singers to adulterate the music of “The Star-Spangled Banner” to show off their vocal abilities. This seems to put the honor of the singer ahead of the honor of the flag.

Please take this into consideration as Memorial Day is approaching. You are not honoring veterans when dishonoring the flag.
