Alzheimer’s workshop set at Lewiston library

An educational workshop, “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia,” is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Lewiston City Library, 411 D St., Lewiston.

The program will cover the relationship between Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, what happens in a brain affected by Alzheimer’s, risk factors and general stages of the disease, FDA-approved treatments for symptoms, what’s on the horizon in Alzheimer’s research and local resources availble for those affected by the disease.

The program is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged, but not required. Registration can be done by calling 1 (800) 272-3900.
