Numerous businesses destroyed in downtown Sandpoint

SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) A fire that roared through downtown Sandpoint, Idaho, has destroyed numerous businesses.

The city of Sandpoint Facebook page reports that the fire began at about 1 a.m. Monday along North First Avenue, the main street through downtown.

The Spokesman-Review says video and pictures of the fire show it burning a group of businesses along First Avenue, including The Hound and China Kitchen restaurants and the Chocolate Bear.

A cause has not been determined. No injuries were immediately reported.
