Portions of Elm and Tenth streets will be closed for construction starting Monday, according to email releases from the city of Columbia and MU.

Both lanes of traffic and the north sidewalk will be closed on Elm Street between Sixth and Seventh streets while construction workers install windows in the State Historical Society of Missouri's Center for Missouri Studies building, according to the MU release.

The work related to the Elm Street closure is scheduled to be completed by Jan. 21 at 5 p.m., according to the release.

On Tenth Street, four parking spaces and a portion of the west sidewalk between East Broadway and East Walnut Street will be closed for construction starting at 7 a.m. Monday, according to the release from the city.

Construction workers will perform roofing work on 929 E. Broadway and are scheduled to finish on Jan. 18, weather permitting, according to the release.

Drivers and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution while traveling in work zones.
