New option for ADD/ADHD

Print Article

The Focus program at Spoelstra Chiropractic is off and running. We have been receiving a lot of feedback from the community and great support in offering one of the only drugless sensory integration programs of its type in the country. We realize that the choices seem limited when dealing with sensory integration issues like ADD/ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and undiagnosed problems with productivity and hyperactivity.

The Focus program is in place to provide an option that does not include medication. Many people struggle with the decision to medicate for sensory integration problems or attempt to manage them without the use of medications. It's a tough choice; however, it's not the only choice!

The Focus program takes a strength based approach to the management of sensory integration issues. We do not view any person (or brain) as "dysfunctional" or "broken." There are many prime examples of athletes, artists, musicians, actors, famous thinkers and great leaders that have experienced iconic success despite being labeled with a sensory integration disorder. You most likely watched Michael Phelps become the most decorated athlete of all time in London. As a person with ADHD, that certainly shatters the stereotype that success and high function is not an option for those with sensory integration problems.

The Focus program brings together three of the most powerful tools for the management of sensory integration issues. Those tools are chiropractic, nutrition and sensory exercises know as neurological integrated movements. On their own, each segment of the program has a proven track record in battling sensory integration problems. Together, they offer the best chance of improvement in the shortest amount of time without the use of medications that alter brain activity and come with inherent risks.

Free informational meetings are being held at Spoelstra Family Chiropractic at various times throughout the month. If you have questions about the Focus program, our staff will be on hand to answer them and the meeting will provide you with everything you need to know to decide if Focus is right for you or a family member. There is no obligation to join or cost associated with these meetings.
