Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra to present 'Vive la France'
The Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra will present its final concert of the season, "Vive la France," at 7:30 p.m. May 10 and 2 p.m. May 11 at the Kroc Center Theater, 1765 W. Golf Course Road, Coeur d'Alene.
The performance will feature soloist Cole Tutino.
Before the Friday concert, attendees will be invited to immerse themselves in a special pre-concert lecture titled "Dialogues with Danh" starting at 6:30 p.m. The lecture will delve into the theme of "music is the universal language," exploring personal experiences and universal characteristics of music. Judith Pinkerton, drawing from her background attending music conservatory and playing in orchestras in Switzerland, as well as her recent collaboration with a Polish string quartet on a cruise, will share insights on the message, memory and life journey that music conveys.
One of the highlights of the pre-concert lecture will be a discussion on common characteristics of music's ability to convey a message, create memories and resemble life's journey. Participants from the Six Habits of Music Medicine class at Children’s Village Family Support Center will be featured, offering their unique perspectives on how they have transformed universal habits of listening to music.
The Six Habits Music Medicine class series at Children’s Village concludes Tuesday, May 7, providing an opportunity to recruit someone from the course to join the discussion and share their experiences. This collaborative effort underscores the orchestra's commitment to engaging with the community and exploring the transformative power of music.
Tickets for "Vive la France," featuring Tutino and the Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra can be purchased online or at the venue. The concert will serve as the grand finale of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony's "Bon Voyage" world tour.
