Blanco, a right-handed pitcher, struck out four and walked three in a no-hit win over Lewiston in the 5A Region 1 tournament on May 6, then allowed one hit and struck out six in 6 ⅔ innings in a 9-1 win state play-in game over Capital of Boise on Saturday in Lewiston. “Aidan pitched 21 ⅔ innings last year on varsity, and those innings really helped his confidence,” Coeur d’Alene coach Erik Karns said. “Aidan was really consistent with a lifting program this past offseason and worked on a consistent basis on developing his changeup and slider. His success is a result of his strong work ethic in the offseason and his willingness to be coached.”
