The Coeur d’Alene Lady Thunder 16U hockey team won their second championship of the season, this one at the U18 AA Pacific Coast Female Rep Tournament last weekend in Richmond, British Columbia. In the front row from left are Elsa Jehle, Danika Johnson,  Samantha Taub, Remmy Kiltz,Aubry Borchers, Jessica Bobiles and Brooklyn Gentz; and back row from left, Ailey George, Brookelynn Christian, Logan Greene, Brooklyn Ingram, Norah Adoretti, Charlie Groff and Marissa Hyland. The tournament hosted over 50 teams across U13, U15, and U18 age divisions and from as far away as Ottawa. After three preliminary games and one intense semifinal with the Edmonton Pandas, the Lady Thunder jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the final and beat the Calgary Fire Red team 5-3 for the title.  
The Lady Thunder teams are comprised of North Idaho, Western Montana and Eastern Washington girls looking to play on female-only teams. Each age division has three teams: Red, Yellow, and Green. Red and Yellow teams play in the new local Frontier Girls Hockey League (FGHL) while the Coeur d'Alene Lady Thunder Green team is the elite team that plays in the National Girls Hockey League (NGHL), playing teams from the east coast. The Green team also attends Canadian tournaments. The 16U Lady Thunder Green team is currently ranked in the top 15 in the nation for AA teams. Next up for the Thunder is the CCM Girls World Invite in Detroit on Nov. 10-12.
