Peightal, a senior from Timberlake High, finished third in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Whitworth Twilight Invitational on April 11, finishing in 12 minutes, 36.75 seconds.

Carter Gordon

Lewis-Clark State track and field

Gordon, a senior from Lake City High, helped the Warriors' 4x800 men's relay clinch a berth to nationals with a time of 7 minutes, 39.49 seconds during the Whitworth Twilight Invitational on April 11 in Spokane. Later, Gordon finished third in the 1,500 in a personal-best 4:04.14.

Lewis-Clark State track and field

Bogdanowicz, a freshman from Coeur d'Alene High, finished seventh with a height of 14 feet, 2 inches at the Whitworth Twilight Invitational on April 11 in Spokane.

• ACADEMIC AWARDS

Lewis-Clark State had 52 spring sport student-athletes earn Academic All-Cascade Conferenced honors, announced on Tuesday. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2, at least a sophomore and been at the school for two semesters.

Locals honored were: Kyla Currie (senior, Lake City High, women's golf); Ian Gardom (junior, Timberlake High, men's track and field); Carter Gordon (senior, Lake City High, track and field); Abigail Peightal (senior, Timberlake High, women's track and field); Brooklyn Shell (senior, Coeur d'Alene High, women's track and field)
