The COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund for Idaho has approved nearly $300,000 for organizations throughout Idaho that are helping low-income individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability, food insecurity and/or domestic violence, along with those in need of physical or mental healthcare, and childcare.

Safe Passage Violence Prevention Center in Coeur d’Alene will receive $10,000 for safe shelter, housing assistance, transportation, gift cards for groceries, assistance with utilities, childcare, other basic needs and technology.

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene will receive $15,000 to feed ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families in Shoshone, Benewah and Kootenai counties, families or individuals who are currently homeless, and emergency responders.

Grant applications were reviewed by a Rapid Response Team and approved by a Steering Committee. Both are comprised of local community members, nonprofit leaders and others. Final approval comes from the ICF Board Executive Committee.
