Dr. Frank

Kimball, 83

The Kimball-Barcelou family and friends mourn the passing of a beloved family member, Dr. Frank Baker Kimball. A devoted father, brother, uncle and grandfather, he was also a respected physician, recognized among his peers for his skills as a pathologist. He was best known, however, for his kind heart, friendly nature and sense of humor.

Frank was born June 23, 1934, in Pasadena, Calif. He grew up in Walla Walla, Wash., and attended Whitman College followed by Johns Hopkins medical school. He served 10 years in the Army stationed in various places including Korea, Montreal and San Antonio.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Barcelou Kimball; and four of his five children (listed by age): Robin Kimball, Judd Kimball, Tera Barcelou and Ken Barcelou. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Allison Kimball.

Frank loved and lived for running, biking, skiing and tennis. Biking trips in France and Austria, running the Honolulu Marathon and skiing at Schweitzer were some of his best trips.

We cherish him for all the love he showered upon us, his family and friends, and will remember him for all the joy and laughter he brought into our lives. Here’s to Skookum rapids!

The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, with a reception following at the Hayden Chapel Gathering Center.
