Maurice William 'Ace' Giboney, 90

Maurice William “Ace” Giboney passed away June 12, 2012, in Auburn, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; daughter Peggy Stange of Knoxville, Tenn.; daughter Amy O’Brien (and John) of Rowayton, Conn.; son Steven Munsell (and Kathy) of Prescott, Ariz.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Giboney was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Ace was born in Hayden, Colo., on Sept. 22, 1921. He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1943 with a B.S. degree in pharmacy. After college Ace was employed by Miles Laboratories where he worked in various divisions during his 40-year career. He began work in 1943 at Cutter Laboratories in Berkeley, Calif., and in 1957 became president of the Corn King Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1968 he transferred to Hollister-Stier Laboratories in Philadelphia, Pa., and was named president of their headquarters in Spokane in 1970. He retired from there on Jan. 1, 1984. 

Ace had a great appreciation for nature and the outdoors, and loved to golf, hunt, fish and camp. He is a former member of the Hayden Lake Country Club.

Arrangements were handled by Blue Oaks Cremation & Burial Service in Roseville, Calif., and he will be interred in Coeur d’Alene.
