Randy Scott Shinneman, 51

Randy Scott Shinneman, 51, of Post Falls, Idaho, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010. He was born Feb. 5, 1959, in San Fernando, Calif.

Randy was raised in San Fernando until age 12 when his family moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School as a Viking Football Player, Debate Team leader and graduated fifth with a GPA 3.95. Randy received his 1st Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from Pacific Lutheran University on Merit Scholarship in 1981 and a second Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from Idaho State University in 1986.

Randy then lived and worked in Sparks, Nev., for 15 years where he was Staff Clinical Pharmacist and Acting Inpatient Supervisor at the V.A. Medical Center. Randy relocated to Post Falls in 2003. Randy loved being a pharmacist. His numerous achievements included being Phi Delta Chi Treasurer, American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, College of Pharmacy Senate, several published medical journal articles and involvement in numerous academic organizations. His passions and joys were his children, family, fishing, hunting, camping, golfing, football, baseball, tending to his garden, his faith and church.

He is survived by his parents, Norman and Irene Shinneman; his sisters, Pam Dresser, Cindy Dresser and Kim Routh; his children, Kayla Shinneman, Joshua Shinneman and Jeremiah Shinneman. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by grandparents, Norman and Edith Shinneman, Jack Boesler and Bill and Pauline Adrews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel.
