Gerald A. Fischenich, 79
Gerald A. Fischenich, 79, resident of Coeur d’Alene passed away April 21, 2008, at Kootenai Medical Center. He was born Aug. 2, 1928, in Sioux Falls, S.D., on a farm with 16 brothers and sisters, to Arnold Fischenich and Anna (Becker) Fischenich. He married Wilma Mae Sivertson on March 26, 1949, in Las Vegas.
Gerald moved here from Lake Havasu City, Ariz., in 2001, and was a cross country truck driver. He was a member of the Abundant Grace Church in Lake Havasu City, a member of Real Life Ministries in Post Falls, and a member of the Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d’Alene.
He loved playing pinnacle at the Coeur d’Alene Senior Center, and pinnacle, card and board games with his family. He loved all kinds of sports, especially football, two of his grandsons plan on becoming professional football players to fulfill Gerald’s dream. He liked boating, fishing and helping his family.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Wilma of 59 years, of Coeur d’Alene; daughters, Deborah and (Pastor Mark) Coffey also of Coeur d’Alene, Gloria (Ron) Blochlinger of Lake Havasu City; brother Don Fischenich; sister Rose Draggotto; twin sister Geraldine Fitzgerald all of Southern California; granddaughters, Tami (Jake) Nielsen and Michelle (Tom) Telliano; great-grandchildren: Devin Lockhart, Blake Miller, Bryce Miller and Isiah Nielsen.
He was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.¬Ý

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Candlelight Christian Fellowship, 5725 N. Pioneer Drive, Coeur d’Alene.
