Cyril O. McGowan, 90, Post Falls, died April 20, 2008, in Post Falls.
He was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Jeffersonville, Ind., to Elizabeth Francis (Wilcoxson) and Ellwyn O’Dell McGowen. Cyril served in the military during WWII, then later moved on to a career in the construction industry. In 1956, Cyril married Loraine Beil in San Mateo, Calif.
Both Cyril and Loraine moved to Post Falls in the late 1980s.
Survivors include his sons: John Robert (Seamus) McGowan of Sumrall, Mich., Vance McGowan of LaGrande, Ore., Michael McGowan, Post Falls, and Miles McGowan, Campbell, Calif.; daughters, Colleen Palmiter, Harrison, and Alice Loraine, Missoula, Mont.; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; and sister Nancy White of Sacramento, Calif.
Cyril was preceded in death by Loraine, who passed away in September 2005, and son Ellwyn in November 1999.
Vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2008, and Requiem Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, both at Immaculate Conception Church, 606 E. Fifth Ave., Post Falls. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, is in charge of the arrangements.
