James L. Oliver Sr., 78

James L. Oliver Sr., 78, of Hauser lake, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at home. He was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Bakersfield, Calif., to James and Edna Oliver.

Jim grew up in Paramount, Calif., and came to Hauser in 1964 from Santa Ana, Calif. On June 17, 1970, he married Adelia Hubbard in Virginia City, Nev. Jim has been a truck driver since he was 14 and has received several Million Mile Awards. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, and a member of the Post Falls Church of The Nazarene. Jim’Äôs family was his life. He liked woodworking, gardening and especially loved babies.

Jim is survived by his wife Adelia, at home; sons: Reed Oliver and Kevin Oliver both of Spokane, James Oliver Jr. and Roger Oliver Both of Hauser; daughters and sons-in-law: Kathy Novak, Shelly and Ken Chambers, both of Las Vegas, Lori and Ray Shipman, Sherri Wheeler, Rose Gates all of Spokane, Pamela Snyder of Hauser. Jim is also survived by two grandchildren they raised: James Hubbard Jr. and Amber Hubbard. Other survivors include a brother, Phil Oliver of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; and two sisters, Betty Fleshman of Paramount and Patty Monogold of Norco, Calif., and 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Jim is preceded in death by a son; James Hubbard Sr. and two sisters.

Viewing will be held from noon until 5 p.m. today, March 28, 2008, at English funeral Chapel, Post Falls, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Post Falls Church of the Nazarene. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Post Falls.
