Music and ministry

| May 3, 2024 1:00 AM

Christian recording artist Luke Yates will be live in concert at 6 p.m. May 18 at the House of Faith Wesleyan Church, 1103 N. Third St., Coeur d'Alene.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Having toured the country for most of his adult life, Yates is no stranger to the music industry and is passionate about his music ministry. He is best known for his smooth baritone voice and sense of humor. His style appeals to fans of multiple generations.

Yates was born and raised in Spokane, the second-oldest of 10 children. He grew up in a Christian family with music at its core. He was singing and playing in church with his mama and siblings nearly from the time he could walk.

The gospel artist shares a mission to spread the word of God through his soulful music. He has performed more than 2,000 concerts throughout the U.S. in the past 20 years. When Yates was 18, he began touring with the nationally recognized gospel music men’s vocal band, New Legacy Project, formerly known as the Blackwood Legacy, and was mentored by Gospel Music Hall of Fame member Rick Price.

He has also teamed up with local musicians and national acts such as James Otto and Keith Anderson, and has been in and out of recording studios from Nashville to L.A. He is a musician, singer, writer, arranger, producer and engineer.

Organizers of the May 18 concert recommend arriving early for best seating.

Yates also has shows coming up at churches and theaters throughout the Northwest and Colorado.
